CRYSTAL PALACE ACE ON MANCHESTER UNITED RADAR

According to reports from England Manchester United are set to make an offer for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.The Crystal Palace defender has been among one of the surprise packages this season.

The 21-year old broke into the first-team towards the end of last season and has established himself as an irreplaceable player in the first team. It is understood that United want the player as a replacement for outgoing defender Antonio Valencia.

Valencia has lost his place in the team and the Ecuador international is expected to leave on a free at the end of the season. The exit of Valencia would leave veteran wing-back Ashley Young and teenager Diogo Dalot as the two players capable of playing on the right side of the defence.

Wan-Bissaka is seen as a long-term signing just like when the club signed left-back Luke Shaw some seasons back from Southampton. It is of the view that Wan-Bissaka can be the long-term custodian of the position at Old Trafford.

However, the defender is not expected to come cheap as Crystal Palace value the player at around £40 million which is a steep fee for a player with less than two seasons on his belt.

The Red Devils are not the only club interested in the fullback as Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Tottenham and AC Milan are understood to be interested. Crystal Palace would utilise the funds gotten from his sale to strengthen the squad in the summer but are apparently not in a rush to sell.

Wan-Bissaka signed a four-year new contract with the club last April and Crystal Palace have the upper hand in terms of negotiating a good fee for his services.  Manchester United next face Wolves in the FA Cup this weekend.
