Liverpool midfielder Georgio Wijnaldum will be leaving the club at the end of the season, according to the words from the mouth of the player’s agent. The midfielder has decided that it is time to leave the Anfield club after talks between him and the Merseyside giants broke down and they were unable to establish an agreement over the signing of a new contract.
Klopp confirmed some months ago that the club were going to initiate talks with the Netherlands international midfielder to try and convince him to stay but it appears the talks did not yield a positive result. The club that have been touted as his most likely destination is Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona. The Camp Nou outfit are reportedly willing to convince him to move to Spain and continue his career and to also link up with his former manager at the international level, Ronald Koeman.
