Newly promoted Premier League side Fulham have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira from Manchester United in a £13m. Fulham will pay an initial fee of £10m for Pereira plus £3m in add-ons. The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal as a new Fulham player until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Fulham are back in the Premier League after one season in the Championship. The Cottagers secured their place in the Premier League by winning the Championship last season. The West London club would be keen to extend their stay in the Premier League in comparison to their last two stays. On both occasions, they were sentto the Championship after one season. In their bid to achieve an extended stay in the Premier League, Fulham are adding quality players to their squad. Brazilian player Pereira is their second summer signing after Portuguese international midfielder Joao Palhinha. Defensive midfielder Palhinha joined the Cottagers from Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese league. Fulham paid £17m to secure the transfer of Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon.
On his move to Fulham, Pereira said he’s very happy to sign for the London club and that he can’t wait to play for the West London team. He’s keen to help Fulham as much as possible to achieve their targets. Pereira also stated that Fulham manager Marco Silva was a key factor in him signing for the club.
New Fulham signing Pereira joined the Manchester United’s youth team at the age of 16 and he spent last season on loan at Brazilian outfit Flamengo. He scored seven goals in 53 games in all competitions for Flamengo during his time at the club. Pereira has played 75 times for Manchester United since his debut for the senior team in 2014. He has been at Granada, Valencia and Lazio on loan as a Manchester United loanee as well.
